How to avoid hair loss 👨🦲 and nutrition fads to avoid
Want to know how to combat hair loss? We've got you covered. We'll also provide some wisdom to help you avoid buying snake oil.
GM Natty’s,
I was feeling combative this morning and I didn’t make it to the gym before work. Instead of taking it out on a rack of weights, I decided today would be the day where I fight off some fitness industry BS - so buckle in.

The Hair-Raising Truth: Balding and How to Fight Back 👨🦲🤺
Life's just a little less smooth when you're losing more strands in the shower than you'd like. Some hold on for dear life. Some just lean into it. I don’t think I’m going bald anytime soon but for those that are, I certainly feel for you. There’s got to be an alternative to hair plugs and shaving your dome.
The 'Bald' Truth: Unraveling the Science 🧑🔬
Losing hair is unfortunately super common, thanks to our not-so-friendly genetic companion - Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). When testosterone meets the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, DHT is born, and this potent androgen shrinks hair follicles, leading to the classic male pattern baldness. However, remember this: balding isn't a flaw, it's a feature, a badge of genetic heritage, if you will.

The Hair We Stand: What Can You Do?
If your mane is losing its glory, you've got options. Hair transplants offer a permanent solution, relocating your hair from the lush 'donor' areas to the 'recipient' deserts. However, it's a pricey path and can involve some discomfort.
I have heard that Turkey’s tourism industry is booming. Offering transplants at a fraction of the price offered in North America. Plus they hook you up with 5-star accommodations and a personal driver taking you to and from your appointment.

Alternatively, shaving your head might just be the clean slate you need. It's a bold and badass move, making you part of the league of extraordinary bald men like Jason Statham, Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson (who are also coincidentally cast members of the Fast & Furious franchise). This choice is empowering, cost-efficient, and who doesn’t love the look of the jacked bald dude. You may in fact look both fast, and furious.
Bald No More: Remedies to Slow Hair Loss 😌
Yet, if you're not quite ready to give up the fight, several remedies might slow down the hair retreat. Remember, this isn't about beating genetics but giving your hair a fighting chance.
Derma rollers: These tiny roller devices puncture the skin lightly to promote blood flow and stimulate hair follicles. Paired with certain treatments, they might just give you a fighting chance in the hair arena.
Fun fact: they work on your face to promote beard growth too
Spiky but effective
Nature's Elixirs: Rosemary water/oil, castor oil, and pumpkin seed oil have all been hailed for their potential hair benefits. While the scientific backing varies, these natural remedies might boost scalp health and slow hair thinning. The internet sure thinks they work!
Minoxidil: The key ingredient in the popular hair loss remedy, Rogaine. The one clinically approved hair-loss treatment for men, minoxidil is a topical solution that stimulates blood flow and nutrients to the hair follicles, slowing loss and promoting regrowth.
Better remember, Doctor Fa….
Going bald can be an emotional rollercoaster, but remember this: hair or no hair, you're still you. If it's time to fight back, arm yourself with knowledge and select the method that suits you best. After all, your worth isn't defined by your hair, but your actions and character.
Morons Who Participate in 'Cleanses' 🤡
We’ve all seen these mouth breathers on social media. They're swearing by a new cleanse. It miraculously cured them of all of their problems. Weight loss. Thyroid. Insulin Resistance. Tempting, right? Let’s shed some light on these ignoramuses and their expensive snake oil.
The Juice Cleanse Myth
Juice cleanses usually involve consuming nothing but fruit and vegetable juices for a few days to a week. It's claimed they help the body eliminate toxins, leading to weight loss, clearer skin, and a host of other benefits. Sounds like a dream come true, doesn't it?
To put it bluntly, our bodies don't need a juice cleanse to 'detoxify.' They are incredibly adept at removing toxins through organs like the liver and kidneys. What juice cleanses actually do is put your body into starvation mode due to a lack of protein, fats, and sufficient calories. Why in gods name anyone thinks it would be a good idea to rid yourself of vital nutrients in favour of sugary drinks is beyond me. Juice is debatably just as bad as drinking soda (or worse). Albeit you might get some vitamin C.
Any weight loss experienced is typically water weight or muscle mass, which will likely return once you resume your regular diet. But you won’t be getting your muscle mass back. As for 'cleanse glow'? It's likely due to hydration from excessive fruit and vegetable intake. A balanced diet and plenty of water can offer the same benefits without the unnecessary stress on your body.
The Water Fast Fiasco
Water fasting, where you consume only water for a set period, often promises similar benefits. Advocates claim that it allows the digestive system to rest and speeds up the body's self-healing processes. Yet again, the science tells a different story.
While fasting does have historical and cultural roots, and intermittent fasting can be beneficial when done correctly, extended water fasting can lead to dangerous consequences. Your body needs nutrients to function properly, and a lack of them can lead to fatigue, nutrient deficiencies, and even heart and kidney damage in severe cases. Plus, just like with juice cleanses, any weight loss from water fasting is often temporary and can lead to muscle loss.
The bottom line? Your body is a finely-tuned machine capable of 'cleansing' itself, provided you fuel it with a balanced diet, hydrate properly, and exercise regularly. Rather than falling for quick fixes and fad diets, invest your time and money in sustainable, long-term healthy habits.
The next time your sister tells you about this new cleanse she heard about online, tell her to save her money. These things are nothing but a money pit that will do nothing beneficial for you whatsoever.
BS Carb Cut Supplements 💩💊
I’ve been seeing a lot of ads for BS supplements lately. Talk about targeted advertising. Well, these guys are going to regret advertising with me because it’s time for school.
The one that has really caught my attention is the miracle pill that is supposed to suppress the effects of carbs on your body. Unfortunately this is a bit more fantasy than reality. This is a point of discussion we're getting into today, with the spotlight on Carb Cut Complete by Innosupps. Their captivating claims range from combatting cravings to supercharging fat burning, weight loss, and more. But how much of this is backed by science, and how much is mere marketing?

The Ingredients and Their Effectiveness
This supplement centers around four primary ingredients: Gymnema Sylvestre leaf extract, gymnemic acids, bitter melon (Momordica Charantia) fruit extract, and Garcinia Cambogia rind extract hydroxycitric acid. Each has its place in the annals of natural health lore, but how effective are they?
Let's go one by one:
Gymnema Sylvestre and Gymnemic Acids: Traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine, Gymnema Sylvestre is known for its "sugar destroying" properties. It's believed to help suppress sweetness in foods and control blood sugar levels. However, human studies are relatively sparse, and the current evidence isn't strong enough to firmly establish its effects on weight loss or carb absorption.
Bitter Melon: This is another ingredient frequently found in natural remedies, including treatments for diabetes. Some animal studies suggest it may influence carbohydrate metabolism. However, the research conducted in humans is inconsistent, and it is unclear whether bitter melon can significantly impact carb absorption or blood sugar levels.
Garcinia Cambogia: This small, pumpkin-shaped fruit is known for its hydroxycitric acid content, which is thought to aid in weight loss. However, scientific reviews have shown mixed results, with many studies failing to find a significant difference in weight loss between subjects taking Garcinia Cambogia and those taking a placebo.
In other words, while these ingredients have some history in traditional medicine and potentially intriguing effects, the scientific consensus on their efficacy is far from settled. Until more rigorous and consistent research is conducted, we can't reliably say that these ingredients will have the claimed effects. And don’t listen to the reviews, they are 100% bs.
ORRRRR your hard earned cashish
Missing Scientific Backup
Innosupps claims that Carb Cut Complete can help reduce cravings, block carb absorption, and supercharge weight loss. Yet, despite these bold claims, they provide little to no direct scientific evidence to back them up. In the realm of supplements, claims without consistent, strong, peer-reviewed evidence should be approached with caution.
Final Thoughts
In summary, while Carb Cut Complete might contain ingredients with some potential health benefits, its claims to block carbs, reduce cravings, and boost energy aren't currently backed by strong, conclusive scientific evidence.
This company in fact markets a ton of different supplements with varying health claims. Buyer beware. Their marketing is great. Their products? Well, we’re giving them a 1/5.
Shitty ingredients, shittier products, Innosupps
