The Real Life Benjamin Button & Anti Aging

Bryan Johnson and his obsession with anti-aging.

GM jabronis,

Happy Friday fam. Today we’re keeping it light but that doesn’t mean we aren’t bringing the heat 🔥.

We’re changing it up a bit with a little bio on one of the more interesting humans I’ve recently learned about. If you’re into bio hacking and anti-aging then this post is what you seek.

Bryan Johnson - the Real Life Benjamin Button?

The anti-aging maestro: meet Bryan Johnson. Before we deep-dive into his world, let's paint a picture of who he is.

He’s measuring something I’m sure.

Johnson, a tech entrepreneur, became known as the founder of Braintree, a payment gateway that was later acquired by PayPal for a cool $800 million. From the get-go, it was clear that Johnson had a knack for thinking big, but it’s what he’s been up to in recent years that people really started paying attention.

Picture this: You've just sold your company, you're sitting on a huge pile of cash, and the world is your oyster. Most of us would be kicking back on a beach somewhere, sipping a Mai Tai without a care in the world. Not Bryan. Bryan took a U-turn from Silicon Valley and decided to head to become the most measured man in the world in pursuit of eternal youth.

In 2014, Johnson launched Kernel, a neurotechnology company, and Blueprint, an ambitious venture aiming to push the boundaries of health optimization and anti-aging. And when I say 'push the boundaries', I mean Bryan essentially turned himself into a human lab rat.

Seriously, this guy measures everything. You know how most of us track our steps, sleep, and maybe heart rate if we're feeling fancy? That's child's play compared to Johnson. He monitors his brainwaves, blood biomarkers, microbiome, genome - you name it, he's tracking it. He even measures his blood oxygen saturation levels... while he's sleeping. Talk about dedication.

Now, I know what you're thinking: why would anyone put themselves through all that? Well, Bryan's big on the idea that if we can understand our body and mind on a deeper, more granular level, we can essentially hack our way to better health, longevity, and slow down or even reverse the aging process. Imagine being able to spot potential health issues before they're issues, or being able to optimize your body's performance based on your unique data. That's the future Bryan is building with Blueprint. His ultimate goal is to reverse his “biological age”

While it all sounds a bit like something out of a sci-fi movie, Bryan is genuinely onto something here. As technology advances and we learn more about our bodies, the idea of personalized health optimization is becoming more realistic, and potentially, the future of health and wellness. I’ve heard before that it costs roughly $2M to participate in Bryan’s Blueprint program but apparently you can get it done for just under $1700 a month… What a deal lol.

Here are his self reported results as seen on his website

I’m glad you came back for more of the good good. Wishing you a productive and thought provoking rest of your week.

Much love,
